Fab is partnering with Parsons The New School for Design to feature some of tomorrow’s leaders in art and design. And, you know, give you a chance to get some of their stuff before they get famous and it gets super expensive.
All this week, you can see their prints at the special Parsons x Fab shop. The 39 pieces there reflect the best of the best of over 150 student entries from across Parsons’ many divisions, all unique in subject, medium, and treatment.
Art is a way of life for the young people featured in the shop. “Being an artist means the freedom to create what I want and communicate what I feel through my creations,” says Thomas Snowden, a senior in the BFA Illustration program at Parsons.
“I try to design everything around me,” says Annalise Olson, also a senior in Illustration, located within Parsons’ School of Art, Media, and Technology. “The cup I use to hold pencils; I paint on it. The box I keep cool old paper in; I make an awesome label for it. A little while ago I wanted a shirt with glow in the dark skeleton heads on it, so I bought a white shirt, glow in the dark ink, made stamps, and stamped little glow-in-the-dark skeley heads on it.”
Dedicated, resourceful, and relentlessly creative: That’s Parsons, and that’s totally Fab.
